Actually, what happened is simple. The air conditioner doesn't work so when my roommate and I arrived the room was at 80 degrees and positively unbearable. It's still at 76 with a fan blasting constantly. Then, it was like the second day of living here and my roommate turned on the light and there was this loud buzzing and sparks and smoke flew from our lights above our desks. They tried to explode!
